We appreciate your support. 9:15-9:45 Furbearers of Pennsylvania Rest Tent Join the Pa Game Commission for an informative session on furbearers of Pennsylvania and pelt identification. 10:00 - 10:45 - Welcome to the Rut Main Tent The rut, or breeding season, for elk is just around the corner. This program is all about elk behavior during the rut. 10:30 - noon & 2:00-3:00 - Mis Behavin' ECCO Building Performing a variety of music 11:00 - 11:30 - PGC K9 Unit Demonstration Main Tent PA Game Commission Officer Derek and his K9 partner Gunner will be performing a demonstration. 11:00 - Story Teller Rest Tent Story Teller, Dennis Murray will entertain you with whimsical stories. 11:00-3:00 - Caricature Artist Location - Near Mock Goose Hunt Caricature Artist, John Manders, will be sketching guests courtesy of the Elk Expo. Be sure to stop by to have your sketch done. 11:00-3:00 - Face Painting Location - Near Mock Goose Hunt Face painter Chelsea Kocher of CNK Facepainting will be painting guests courtesy of the Elk Expo. Be sure to stop by. 11:45 12:30 - Predator Hunting in Pennsylvania Main Tent Having more than 4 decades of predator hunting experience, Freddie McKnight has learned a few tips and tricks along the way. A highly sought after seminar speaker on this subject, McKnight has helped and untold number of want to be predator hunters further their outdoor experience. This seminar covers all the bases of predator hunting from those starting out to helping even the most hard core predator hunting. Learn how/where to call, best calls to use, scent control, entry/exit strategies, and more with this informative session.. Noon - 5:00 - Nick Forsyth performs (with breaks for seminars) Rest Tent Nick has been involved in many musical projects over the years. He now covers everything from Johnny Cash to Led Zepplin and Tom Petty. Noon, 3:00, and 4:30 - Mock Goose Hunts Edge of Field Join our waterfowl friends as the present hands on mock goose hunts throughout the weekend. This is a great activity for youths! 12:30 - Elk Overview with PGC ECCO Building Elk Biologist, Jeremy Banfield, with the Pennsylvania Game Commission will be giving a presentation on Pennsylvania elk. 12:30 - 1:15 - Para cord make and take Main Tent Join KECA staff for a para cord make and take activity. 1:00 - Pennsylvania Game Commission Elk License Drawing ECCO Building There will be no live video feed of the drawing. 2:00 - 2:45 - Carver Jeff Keiffer of Golden Feather Decoys Rest Tent Jeff has been carving for over 25 years and will share the lost art of hand carving decoys. 2:00 - 3:00 - Conservation Trivia
Main Tent Join the Elk County Conservation District for a fun game of Conservation Trivia! Teams will be tested on their knowledge of the environment of Pennsylvania. Come prepared to answer questions on wildlife, ecology, history, aquatics, and more! Teams may consist of up to 5 members per team. A conservation themed prize pack will be awarded to the winning team. ![]() 3:00 - 4:00 - KECA Elk Calling Contest
Main Tent Can you grunt, bugle, or mew like an elk? If so, join KECA's "Adult" and "Youth" Elk Calling Contest. Download the Rules and Application 3:15 - 3:45 - Elk Hunt in Pennsylvania Rest Tent Learn about Pennsylvania's Elk Hunt with an informative talk by KECA Conservation Education Staff. 3:30-4:00 - Antler Shed Hunting ECCO Building Join KECA staff for an informative session on antler shed hunting, you will then test your skills in the field trying to find sheds. A lucky participant will win a Cabelas gift card. 3:45 - 2019 Elk Patch Contest Winner Award Presentation Rest Tent Recognition to the winner of the 2018 Elk Expo patch design from the previously ran contest. 4:00 - 4:45 - Atlatl Seminar Main Tent The atlatl is a prehistoric hunting device used for thousands of years in Pennsylvania before the arrival of the bow and arrow around 900 AD. This device assisted with throwing a spear further and more accurately than by hand. 5:00 - 5:45 - Story Teller, Dennis Murray Rest Tent Story Teller, Dennis Murray, will entertain you with hunting and fishing stories. 5:00 - Wapiti Roost Chapter, NWTF Youth Turkey Calling Contest ECCO Building All youths are invited to take part in a turkey calling contest. Those taking part will have the chance to build their own to take home. 11:00-11:30 - Trail Cameras for Beginners ECCO Building Join the KECA Con Ed staff for an informative talk on setting up trail cameras for beginners. The "Deer Lady" Rusty Snyder of Double Diamond Deer Ranch will also have a talk along with a question and answer session. 2:30 - 3:30 PA Wilds Nature Trivia Main Tent How well do you know Pennsylvania wildlife Bring your team of 3-4 people to test your knowledge of the world around you. Snakes of Pennsylvania Exhibit
Russell Wheeler will be on hand throughout the weekend with a display and for discussion about snakes native to Pennsylvania. Russ is a student at Penn State DuBois studying Wildlife Technology, his family has been educating the public on snakes for quite awhile. My goal is to help people better identify snakes, and feel more comfortable around them. He will teach the public about Identification, snake bites, and any other questions that are brought up.
PA Trappers Association Demonstrations and Exhibit
The Pa Trappers Association will be on hand in their booth all weekend to provide trapping demonstrations, answer all furbearer and pest control questions, along with providing hands on activities for youth and adults

If they are able to trap a black bear, they will transport it to the Elk Expo to show how they record and process the animal before releasing it.

The North Fork Chapter #29 will provide an Atlatl throw area where you can try this 10,000 year old hunting technique. The atlatl is a prehistoric hunting device used for thousands of years in Pennsylvania before the arrival of the bow and arrow around 900 AD. This device assisted with throwing a spear further and more accurately than by hand.
Feet Are Neat
This station will be set up throughout the weekend. Make sure to stop by and learn some interesting facts about a few of the animals found in the Pennsylvania Wilds. When you read about their preferred habitat you will get a better idea of where you may find some of their tracks! There will be a "Track Making Station" set up where you can see what they would look like if you came across one in the wild.
Elk Trap Unit
The PA Game Commission will have their new single animal trap unit. Elk Biologist, Jeremy Banfield has successfully used the trap to capture elk throughout the winter. The trap will be conveniently located near the Elk Country Visitor Center so you can get an up close look at it.
Horse Drawn Wagon Rides
Join us for horse drawn wagon rides in the evening to learn about the ECVC property, PA elk and their habitat. If we are lucky we will get to view elk from the wagon. Stop by the information desk for reservations. Wagon rides will take place at 5, 6, and 7pm.
